Use filler words like heyrðu, hérna, or sko. Because they give you time to think about what you're going to say next and they signal to native speakers that you know some basics.
And remember: everyone struggles with a new language at first! So don’t be too hard on yourself. Connect the language to something you love, like a hobby, to make learning more enjoyable.
